So glad to have finally picked this up and read it after what was the amazing work of David Moody's on Hater. This continues pretty much where Hater left off, and while it is told from an almost completely different perspective, I couldn't believe how hauntingly similar it is to hear the story told. Between being a Hater and Unchanged, the only thing that seems to change is the willingness to fight that which is "Hated". Sure, the Haters attack uncontrollably, but are those things not what they had already complained about and wanted to destroy in their former lives? There is so much to these books and they make me think so hard. Never have I been so impressed with an apocalyptic story line like this. It's so easy to identify with McCoyne in both Hater and in Dog Blood. I thoroughly enjoyed this sequel, and now I can't wait to read Them or Us. The Hater series is a must read for horror, sci-fi, zombies, apocalyptic, and deep-thinking readers all around. If there ever was a series of books that I most identify with as a human being in our society, it's the Hater trilogy (thus far).
